Trivia Corner: Johnny Briggs (England), and Wasim Akram and Abdul Razzaq (of Pakistan) are three of only four players to have taken a hat-trick and scored a century in tests. The fourth person to do so was a New Zealander. Who is he? *** Pakistan Cricket is currently in the news for all the wrong reasons. Did you know they first toured New Zealand in 1964/5 playing 12 matches and going through the tour undefeated despite struggling with the foreign conditions. All 3 tests were drawn .Richard Collinge the Wellington left arm quick became New Zealands third youngest debutant and dismissed the Pakistan “little master” Hanif Mohammad in 5 of his six innings finshing with 15 wickets at 17. *** October 2003 was the first time in tests that the first three New Zealand Batsmen scored centuries in the same innings. Richardson, Vincent and Styris – there was also a fourth century in that innings – who scored it? Answers on Events Page |
