Wellington Collegians is a fantastic cricket club located in the heart of Wellington City and was formed when the Wellington (1849) and the Wellington College Old Boys (1879) clubs merged in 1970.We pride ourselves on giving players opportunities to develop their cricket skills in a friendly and social, club environment. Players of all abilities and ages are welcome to come and join the Collegians Club.University Scholarships are available to selected club members attending University. A number of players have represented both Wellington and New Zealand. New Zealand representatives include Martin Crowe, Bert Vance and most recently James Franklin. Penny Kinsella and most recently Fiona Fraser have played for New Zealand from the women’s ranks.
Facilities Based at Anderson Park in the Botanical Gardens. Collegians boast one of the best settings to play and watch cricket in Wellington. A short walk from the central city and Victoria University our central location is ideal for those living or working in town. The clubrooms are well utilised for after match socialising, it has a great atmosphere and the prices at the bar are some of the cheapest in town. Playing and CoachingThe two top men’s sides are coached by a qualified Level 3 coach, and all players in the club are provided with the opportunity to receive coaching. The club enters teams in two of the top three grades in Wellington including Hazlett Trophy, and five other men’s teams, a senior women’s team and two women’s super 8 teams.
